Alright, it’s a new day and I’m ready to try some more Pokémon Platinum. After all the tragedies that happened in yesterday’s part of this, I think it’s best to level up my 3 team members on Route 206 and in Wayward Cave. First off, the Route 206 trainers! *sees there is only 1 trainer to fight on Route 206 who I fought last time* To Wayward Cave!
Inside the cave it is pitch black and I do not have flash with me so this will prove interesting. During the process of getting lost in the cave and fighting all the trainers, something bad happens yet again. I get near where I am supposed to go in this cave when I encounter 2 trainers and one having a Shinx. I was using Staravia and Luxio at the time when the Shinx lives Staravia’s Quick Attack and hits Nimbus the Staravia with a critical hit Spark. So now only two remain. I plan on training up Skye the Drifloon now but I’m worried about how it will fair in future battles. Again on the way there I get another close call. I send Prinplup out to fight a Wild Geodude for some exp. During the battle the Geodude lives my Metal Claw (would have used Bubblebeam but I’m out of PP for that) and uses Self Destruct! Thankfully, Karen the Prinplup lives with 9 HP.
Finally I find what I came for, the lost girl in the cave, Mira and her Pokémon Kadabra. Similar too Cheryl, Mira will be with you until you exit the cave and will heal your Pokémon after each battle. After getting lost some more I escort Mira out of the cave and get out of there as fast as I can. Then I go to release Nimbus the Staravia and begin training up Skye the Drifloon. However, my bad luck strikes again because while training her up, a Ponyta gets off a Critical hit Flame Wheel bringing her from full health to no health in a matter of seconds. That makes 2 Pokémon yet again until I find something new or decide to train up the Lv. Zubat or the Lv. 6 Togepi
.
After releasing Skye I decide it is best to just move on with the 2 Pokémon I have now and pray for better higher level Pokémon to come in the future. I head on to the upper part of Route 207 to fight some trainers. I can’t catch anything here since I got a Machop back when I could access the lower part of the route when I was in Oreburgh for the first time. After defeating all the trainers I run into Lucas who is nice and gives me both the VS. Seeker and the Dowsing Machine app for my Poketch. He then leaves and I head into Mt. Coronet. I use a Repel inside (that is legal) because we come back to this place later and I know for a fact there are so many greater Pokémon on the higher areas of the mountain than there are here on the very bottom. Inside I run into that creepy blue hair dude that we saw back at Lake Verity and Eterna city again. He says something about hating the direction the world is heading and wishes to gain power to change it…. again not suspicious. I get through easily to the other side and enter Route 208. I defeat the trainers here (picking up a Great Ball and Ether along the way) and decide to try and get a new Pokémon off of this route. I was really hoping for Roselia or a Ralts but at this point I knew I’d have to go with whatever the game decided to grace me with. And there it is, a male Lv. 20 Roselia. I would have preferred female but I really won’t complain. I manage to catch it without taking too much damage and decide to name it “Bud” after a rosebud (so original….). Bud has a Gentle nature much like “Chop-Ma” did before him and is “strong willed”. I hope he is because I need him to stay with me for awhile. I then pick up the “Odd Keystone” and head to Hearthome City to heal.
In honor of Nimbus the Staravia... one of our best team members...

Ouch, these last couple of updates have not been the best way to come back to the LP, with so many deaths. At least the new Roselia and Eevee are a good way to start to re-build the team. Good luck with the training and the next gym. Here's hoping there won't be any more losses for a while.

ReplyDeleteYeah, I have to admit I seem to be entering a bad streak with this part of the LP. Thankfully training for Roselia and Eevee is going just fine and the whole team is about to reach Lv. 30 which is where I want them. Hopefully, now that I have a bit more type coverage my Pokemon won't die as much as they have been the past few segments.
